Writers Group

Writers Group Workshops are held on the second Monday of every month.

Each session will feature a guest speaker, quiet time to write, a chance to share your work with like-minded people and writing exercises. Sessions are free, and all members of the Aboriginal Community are welcome to attend; with refreshments provided.

Workshop Guest Speaker: Hellie Turner

Hellie is a prolific WA playwright with numerous awards and production credits to her name. She has written for all sectors of the theatre community including young people, independent and professional sectors. In addition to her freelance and commissioned work she was resident playwright for ‘kompany M’ … professional WA theatre ensemble 2005-2010.

Hellie’s play Anytown was Short-listed Best New Play, 2011 Equity Guild Awards and in March this year her play Mesh was selected for the International Playwrights Festival, in London.
